Both ends of the bar have a square drive socket. One end takes your socket. The other end takes your ratchet or impact driver.
Step 1: Socket on, slide it in. Put a socket on one end of the bar. Slide that end down into the engine bay, past the brackets and hoses, onto the bolt.
Step 2: Ratchet from the top. Attach your ratchet or impact driver to the other end, the one still up in the clear where you have room to work. Ratchet back and forth like normal.
Step 3: Bolt turns. The chain inside the bar carries each click of rotation from your ratchet down to the socket on the bolt.
